OPEN DUMPSTER/BRUSH PILE

The Open Dumpster and Brush Pile will be open beginning on Saturday, June 8th. You must make an appointment with the office and present your current badges.
No tires will be accepted.
No TV's, electronics or microwaves.
No refrigerators , appliances or air conditioners.
No Water Heaters.
No Metal of any kind.
No treated wood.
Cabinets or any other large items must be broken down ahead of time before placing in the dumpster.
Limited dumping will be allowed - We will not allow the dumping of entire rooms or homes.
No Contractor Material can be placed in the dumpster.
No leaves or landscaping debris, brushes, trees, etc.
If in doubt please call the office for verification.
For the Brush Pile you must make an appointment through the office. Only branches are accepted - no leaves. Chipper size branches only, no logs or big trees.
These rules will be strictly enforced and any property owner found in violation of these rules will face a fine up to $1,000 for each offense. The Dumpster is for the use of Brier Crest Woods Community Members Only.
Please keep in mind that the dumpster is under camera surveillance.
 
MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC

Spring is a good time to review your rules and regs! Please be mindful of your speed in Brier Crest and observant of all stop signs. Speed is radar enforced! Stop signs are monitored and recorded. Children are out and about, their safety is of great concern to us. Citations have and will continue to be issued for any traffic violation.
Please also refer to the Website,and  Facebook for waste procedures. There is a listing on both sights of unacceptable items. Cameras are in place at all locations and again citations are being issued for any and all illegal dumping in both the compactor and the recycling bins. No warnings will be issued. When in doubt please call the office!
Dogs are to be kept on leashes and cleaned up after. Failure to do so is a fineable offense. Pets are not allowed on the beach!
Brier Crest badges are required at all Brier Crest amenities , beach, fishing, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc.and can be picked up at the office during regular business hours.
There is no parking allowed on the street or swales.
Permits are required for all outdoor work. Please call the office.
Please have your golf carts and ATV's registered with Security and children must be of proper age as noted in the rules and regulations.

DOG LICENSING

Pennsylvania state law mandates that all dogs 3 months or older must be licensed. Dog Licenses must be purchased by January 1st of each year regardless of when the license was purchased the previous year.

LIFEGUARDS WANTED
Brier Crest Woods is seeking individuals who are reliable, self-motivated, punctual, able to handle stressful situations tactfully, and works well in team settings. Our requirements are as follows:
• Works well with children.
• Proof of certification....
• Making sure swimmers are following the rules.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Our Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and pleasant environment in the swimming areas. He or she will monitor all activity and conditions for safety hazards, unsafe behavior, and medical emergencies, and will take any corrective action required. Below is an updated list from GCS Landfill of items that they cannot accept and which can NOT be placed into our trash. Spotters are at the landfill and Brier Crest will face a substantial fine for any violation.

Security is actively monitoring our trash bins. Citations to include a fine will be issued for all trash violations. The trash area is equipped with security cameras.
 
When in doubt about an item please call the office first.
 
The open dumpster will once again be available this spring/summer by appointment. Notification will be posted when the first open dumpster is scheduled.
 
Any fines issued to Brier Crest due to improper dumpster procedures affects us all. Increased costs to Brier Crest for fines imposed can affect our dues structure.
 
The Waste Authority is located at 183 Commercial Boulevard in Blakeslee off 115 by the Best Western.   Their phone number is 570-643-6100.
 
They are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the First Saturday of the month by appointment only.  There is no fee for disposing of items with the exception of tires.   
 
BOY SCOUT CLOTHING DRIVE

Boy Scout Troop No. 98 is continuing their clothing drive.  They are accepting new or used clothing, bedding, shoes, toys and bicycles in useable condition. Please drop off donations at the office Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon. 
Pick ups can be arranged by calling the office at 570-646-8802. 
 
Fall is a great time to clean out those unwanted or unnecessary items and a wonderful opportunity to support our local boy scout troop.
 
EMERGENCY POWER OUTAGES

In the event of a power outage the community building will  be open to all Brier Crest residents. The community building is equipped with a generator. We have heat, hot water, coffee and restroom facilities. Please feel free to stop in, charge up your device have a hot coffee and warm up.
